Since 1993, SBK has strived to provide unparalleled levels of service in Park Gate village; we never forget we are here to serve you and we believe that’s why we see the same clients over and over again. Nothing pleases us more than to see the clients returning time and time, to sell or rent their properties through SBK. 

We are not what some may perceive as the ‘stereo-typical’ estate agent: we are not pushy, we are not hard-nosed or care-free and we are still happy to help if there isn’t an immediate fee involved. We believe in offering our knowledge and expertise with an initial ‘no strings’ approach, so that new clients can get to witness the refreshing way we approach business first hand.

Team continuity is another one of our strongest attributes, if you were to visit our office next week or next year, over time you are likely to see the same team members. Julie & Keith in the Lettings Department have close to 20 & 15 years of service respectively, whilst Phil and Peter in sales each have over 15, Luke who joined us from college 8 years ago, we form part of a tight-knit team who have been able to consistently improve year on year.

Richard Faulkner – Managing Director

A founder of SBK back in August 1993 Richard who is born and bred locally knows nothing else other than estate agency having worked in the industry since leaving school. He has a superb local knowledge and an unbelievable memory for old clients and the transactions they were involved in. Richard now has a more tactical role within the company; he is continually trying to think of ways of keeping SBK in front of the competition. Richard has always been heavily involved in Land & New Homes and has built an enviable reputation locally, helping SBK to become dominant in the local New Homes market. Married to Penny, he lives locally with his five children & two pet tortoise. In his spare time Richard enjoys running and swimming with his children; he is also a passionate, life-long supporter and season ticket holder at Southampton FC.

Penelope Faulkner – Director

Penelope keeps everything on an even keel and runs the very important accounts department. As we manage so many properties for landlord clients, and have such a busy business, it is imperative that there is somebody coordinating all the financial transactions in the day-to-day flow of SBK. All of our landlords are paid by 'fast payment' transfers. so that as soon as the rent day arrives they can be sure they are paid with the maximum of efficiency and without delay. Self-taught on Sage Accounts, what Penelope doesn’t know isn’t worth knowing. Married to Richard, she is has no choice but to live and breathe SBK every waking hour; luckily Penelope enjoys her close involvement with the running of the business. When she has the opportunity to escape her work commitments, Penelope is a regular attendee of Yoga and Pilates classes at her local gym, she is an extremely keen and talented baker and loves having dinner parties for her family, which includes her five children.

Philip Charman – Director

Heading up the Residential Sales Department and in control of the day-to-day business at SBK, Phil started as a negotiator some 11 years ago. Phil’s career path at SBK shows our commitment to continuity of the team and promotion from within. Phil was more recently promoted to Director and now heads up the operations to make sure that we consistently offer all of our clients the same high standards that we have become known for. Phil’s excellent local knowledge along with his unbelievable level of tenacity ensures that our clients both new & old, get the very best advice time and time again and the very best results when selling their home. Phil lives locally in Whiteley with his wife Charlotte and two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys many games of five-a-side football.

Luke Banbury – Assistant Manager

After attending Barton Pevril College in Eastleigh; Luke identified a career in estate agency as fitting with his outgoing people person personality. Luke has almost an unrivalled skill in matching the right people with the right homes, culminating in outstanding results. Luke shares the workload of our 100% accompanied viewing commitment, along with many valuations. Clients and purchasers alike can really tell that Luke loves this job, he is always happy to go that extra mile and already has a faithful following of clients that return again and again. Luke lives locally with partner Lucy, and in his spare time is a keen gym attendee, a kick boxing supremo and has recently completed the Bournemouth Marathon.

Peter French – Sales Coordinator

Peter has one of the key roles at SBK, coordinating the many sales that the residential sales team arrange throughout the year. We are unaware of any other local agent who has a dedicated full time sales coordinator in the office, it is all he does and he is worth his weight in gold. With Peter’s great experience and enthusiasm in this sector he tries everything within his power to ensure that all of the transactions run as smoothly as possible; Peter knows that keeping all of our clients fully updated and progressed with all aspects of their sale chain, is the secret to SBK’s very low fall through rate. He has been with SBK for over 12 years and although he lives with his wife and two children in Chandlers Ford you will witness him cycling to work many days. In addition to having a keen interest in cycling, undertaking 100 miles each weekend, he is an avid Lincoln City football supporter.

Keith Hodge – Head of Residential Lettings

Having been with SBK for nearly 16 years and originally dealing with property sales, Keith for the last 9 years has been involved with the lettings and now with his calm, organized approach, heads up the Lettings team. His knowledge on both achieving the best rent for our landlords and the legal issues involved in the complicated legislative side are outstanding. Keith has a tenacity to keep looking for the very best tenants for our landlord clients; unlike many other agents he will not just put forward the first tenant if they don’t fit the highest standards that SBK expect for our clients. Keith lives locally with his partner and two children; like Phil he is a keen five-a-side aficionado, also an avid Portsmouth FC fan, which leads to some interesting office banter with Richard.

Julie Crawley – Lettings Administrator

Julie has been with SBK almost since its inception with only a short career break for two years; she is the engine room of our busy lettings operation, and coordinates all of the busy property management issues, from referencing all of the new potential tenants, organising all of the property maintenance issues, preparing all of the tenancy paperwork and the all-important payment of the rent to the landlords, Julie lives locally, and to unwind from her busy work days, is a keen gym enthusiast & wine taster.

Beth Ross – Lettings Negotiator

Our newest member to the lettings team; with the advent of the much higher levels of business activity that SBK are generating, we needed somebody who can see through the day to day activities of the exciting and ever changing lettings industry. Beth heads up the majority of the viewings and is equipped to handle all enquiries effectively and efficiently; an additional attribute is her speed and attention to detail on the computing side of the business which assists in the smooth running of the letting process and is the glue that holds the busy team together, allowing them to effectively manage their own busy workloads. In her spare time at evenings and weekends, Beth likes to attend many different gym classes and spend time with her equally gym enthused boyfriend.

Mandy Bowers

Mandy Bowers - Weekend Assistant

Mandy has recently joined our team, in a bold move by SBK to further enhance the swift and precise service that we have become renowned for locally. Mandy answered our cry for help, when we advertised the post, having enjoyed purchasing her family’s house in Locks Heath through SBK some three years ago. She has a wealth of experience in various administrative roles, and although she has only been with us only for a couple of weeks, Mandy is already ‘licking’ us into shape, and based on her undoubted experience already implemented some excellent time saving & efficient procedures. In her spare time Mandy has enjoyed renovating her charming character home, where she lives with her husband and three children; she is a very keen runner likes walking her dog Charley and frequenting her local pub.
